Air Conditioning Installation FAQ
Questions we hear
Can you add central air to a house that heats with a boiler?
Yes. A boiler home usually has no ductwork, so we add an air handler and ductwork for central air. Ductless is often the simpler path. We’ll go over both during your estimate.
Is it a good idea to replace the AC and furnace together?
It can be, since they share the blower and ductwork. It depends on the age and condition of each. When both are getting older, we may suggest replacing them together. We’ll give you an honest take during the estimate.
Do I need a new indoor coil, or just the outdoor unit?
In most replacements the indoor coil and outdoor condenser are replaced as a matched pair. We’ll explain what your system needs.
Who does the electrical work?
Electrical hookup on new installs is done by a certified electrician. We’ll go over what your system needs during the estimate.
What happens to my old air conditioner?
We haul it away when the new system is in.
Do you install heat pumps too?
Yes. A heat pump cools like an air conditioner and also heats. We install and service them; see Heat Pumps.
Can I finance a new AC?
Financing options available through FTL Finance.
I have an AC quote from someone else. Will you look at it?
