PECO pays on the whole system’s AHRI rating. A condenser may say “up to” a rating that the full system doesn’t reach. PECO suggests asking your contractor if the equipment qualifies before you buy.

PECO ENERGY STAR® Rebates
PECO offers rebates on qualifying ENERGY STAR® heating, cooling and water heating equipment. Here’s what PECO lists now, and how to apply.
How PECO Rebates Work
- The equipment must be new and ENERGY STAR® certified.
- Heating and cooling systems are rated as a whole system by AHRI (SEER2, EER2 and HSPF2), not by “up to” ratings on one part.
- It must be installed in a home that gets PECO residential electric or natural gas service, depending on the equipment.
- PECO must receive your application within 90 days of purchase or installation.
- Include a paid receipt showing the model number, manufacturer, purchase price and purchase date.

Converting From Oil to Natural Gas?
C&L Fuel Inc. does oil-to-natural-gas conversions.
PECO lists a $400 Natural Gas Heating Conversion rebate for PECO natural gas customers who convert their main or only heating fuel to natural gas.
PECO asks for proof of the conversion with the application, such as a contractor invoice that notes the removal of the old equipment or the new gas line.

Before You Buy
One Rebate per Area
If you get a heat pump rebate for heating and cooling part of your home, PECO won’t also pay a furnace or air conditioner rebate for that same part of the home.
Central Air and Your Furnace
PECO notes that for a new central air conditioner to qualify, in most cases the furnace or air handler it’s matched with must be high efficiency too.
